Tier 1 - Highly Skilled Visa
- From 01st April 2009, New Tier 1 Highly Skilled Visa Applicants required to have a Master's degree to fulfill the eligibility criteria.
- Current HSMP Visa holders would not be affected by this change. They still need to go through the points system to extend their stay (requalify) if their initial HSMP approval letter was issued after November 2006.
- Under new rules, earnings under £20,000 will not lead to any points being awarded under the earnings section, it is not a mandatory requirement for applicants earnings to meet this level. It will still be possible, in rare circumstances (Combinations of Phd and the age of less than 28), to gain enough points without claiming points for earnings.
