Covid 19 - Home Office Application processing procedure
Home Office Application fees from April 2020
25 September 2009
From 1 October 2009 the Immigration Rules will be amended relating to Tier 1 General. It will no longer be possible from 1 October 2009 to take into account periods of study when calculating points awarded for previous earnings. This means that most international students graduating from UK Universities (Even if they had professional experience with good salary before becoming a full-time student in the UK) will have to apply for Tier 1 Post Study Work or Tier 2 or work outside the UK before being able to make an application under Tier 1 General.
UKBA says, It deletes the provision for periods of study leave to be taken into account when calculating the points awarded for previous earnings under the Tier 1 (General) category. The change ensures that decisions will be based on an applicant's recent work experience and earning capability, better demonstrating their ability to make a significant contribution to the UK labour market.
